Firebush
A wonderful wildlife plant and one of the prettiest native plants Florida has to offer. This orange/yellow tubular flowers-blooms for months. A favorite for butterflies, birds, and hummingbirds. Extremely hummingbird and butterfly friendly.
This plant is a fast grower that can be kept 4 to 5 feet tall by 3 to 5 feet wide. Firebush can be planted in any well-drained soil and will do best if it is watered regularly until it is established.
Firebush requires plenty of heat and full sun for optimal growth. Although it will grow in partial shade, it will not bloom as well as it does when given full sun.
Plants may need to be pruned to keep them to the desired height, especially in South Florida where they grow year-round.
