The Florida Mahogany, aka the Caribbean Mahogany, the West Indies Mahogany, or the Spanish Mahogany is known for its dark reddish-brown colored hardwood. It is a large canopy or shade tree that can grow over 40 feet tall with a spread of 20-30 feet. It is a semi-deciduous tree that loses the old leaves at the end of winter when new growth is beginning. The Florida Mahogany is a fast-growing tree and is tolerant of different soils. It prefers full sun to partial shade.
