The Bottle Palm gets the name due to its trunk’s strong resemblance to a bottle. The tree trunk is swollen and rounded when young, and becoming more elongated as the palm matures. Bottle palm is a is native to the Mascarene Islands.

This palm is an outstanding accent for tropical garden beds or entry areas. Its small size and striking appearance enhance formal or eclectic landscapes. Bottles are slow-growing palms that could reach e 10 feet at maturity. Most Bottle palms in the landscape average only 5 to 7 feet tall.

Bottle palm trees require warm temperatures all year and tend to prefer drier soils. They are cultivated in Florida, southern California, Hawaii, and other warm climates.
