Lantana
This ground cover thrives in sun to partial shade with plants reaching heights of twelve inches and widths of over eighteen inches.
The aromatic gold flowers make this a favorite for butterfly gardens with flowers blooming from summer through fall.
Lantanas are available in a rainbow of colors, and like full to part sun. Varieties may grow low to the ground as a plant or get a little taller like a shrub. Some of the common shades are red, white, blue, yellow, orange, and even blue, but many plants feature blooms that change hue as the season progresses.
Lantana grows well in Zones 1-8, with perennial varieties doing well in Zones 9-11. Some Lantana varieties act as a tender perennial plant in Zones 7-8.
Perennial lantana can grow as tall as 6-feet, and as wide as 10-feet if they have the right growing conditions.
